FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How do I sign in?
SpendLens uses Google Sign-In. Tap “Get it on Google Play”, install the app, and sign in with your Google account. We never ask for a banking password.
Do you ask for my bank login or card details?
No. SpendLens never asks for your banking password, UPI PIN, card PIN, CVV or OTP, and it cannot move money. You add accounts as metadata (bank, type, a masked number, balance).
How does automatic SMS transaction tracking work?
On Android, if you opt in, the app reads incoming messages from recognised bank/UPI senders and parses them on your device. Only the extracted fields (amount, direction, date, bank, masked suffix, merchant, reference, method) are sent to our servers — never the raw message. Detected transactions wait in a review inbox.
Is SMS tracking on by default?
No. It is off by default and Android-only. The app requests the SMS permission only when you turn it on in Profile → Automatic transactions.
How do I turn SMS tracking off?
Open Profile → Automatic transactions and toggle it off. You can also revoke the SMS permission in your Android settings. Existing transactions you already confirmed stay in your history.
Do detected transactions get added automatically?
No — they're never added silently. They appear in a review inbox where you confirm, edit, assign an account, or ignore each one.
What is App Lock?
An optional lock that requires your device fingerprint, face or passcode to open SpendLens, with a configurable auto-lock delay. Enable it in Profile → App lock & biometrics.
Do you store my fingerprint or face?
No. Biometric authentication is handled entirely by your device's operating system. SpendLens only receives a success or failure result — never your biometric data.
How do I delete my account?
Visit the Delete account page and submit a request, or email us. We delete your profile, accounts, transactions and related data, and confirm by email.
How is my privacy protected?
Balances are hidden by default, sessions are stored in secure device storage, raw SMS is never uploaded, and we don't sell your data or include advertising SDKs. See the Privacy Policy.
Is SpendLens available on iPhone?
SpendLens is launching on Android. Automatic SMS detection is Android-only because iOS does not allow apps to read the SMS inbox; on other platforms you can use manual entry and statement import.
